Hello, I?ve looked arround a while now and cant seem to find any information on this motor that I have.
It is a Johnson 6 hp Seahorse with a Serial no. B29216 and model no. 6BA78B

A friend gave it to me, and told me it would not start and it doesn?t. So I checked the compression and it came out no good (almost no compression). I took off the head and saw that there was about 2 millimeter (0.078 in) gap in the gasget between the cilinders, and there I think the problem lies. I can feel the suction in the carb when I turn the motor so the reed valves must be ok.

Questions are:
Where is the best place to order spare parts for this motor? And it has to be through the internet and someone thats ships worldwide, since I?m not a US resident.

And what year is this motor?

Greatful for all comments.
sincerely Arthur.

Re: 6 hp Johnson Seahorse

My guess is a Belgian made 6hp from '78.
This site has sierra parts at great prices. Here's your gasket: http://www.iboats.com/Head-Gasket-Sierra/dm/*******.367064345--**********.000193051--view_id.173734
Don't know about the shipping, but I'm sure you can ask on the order page.

Confirming, a 1978, made in Belgium.

Go to http://www.evinrude.com/ Select Sweden from the drop down list under "Select Country". I can't lead you any further because I can't read the language, but I suspect you will be able to locate a dealer in your country from there.
