Did I get a good deal and where do I start?

Today I bought a 1988 Bayliner Capri 16" 2.3l boat. Most everything works except the bilge pump and horn. Boat is solid except for a small soft spot to the right of the ski storage area. I paid 600 for the boat and not sure I paid too much or not.

What do I need to look for first with this boat and where can I get an owners manual. Thank you very much for your help.

Depends on how the stringers are in the boat. If the floor is soft more than likely the rot will go farther but,it can be fixed. Look at the Restoration threads the work these guys are doing is top notch and keeps me fascinated every night. As far as a manual try Bayliner's website.

How should the floors feel? Should they be hard, springy when you step on it? I am trying to get better idea here? If the stringers are going bad what are my chances of getting one season of boating out of it before I have to replace them?
