If I had that boat back in 1996 when that comparative picture was taken, I would be ashamed to admit it.

The wood alone is worth more than the asking price. If were closer it would be in my driveway being parted down. Nice boat but its worth more in pieces.

I work right near that boat, and the first thing that came to my mind was, "Wow. Mahagony. That wood is worth it"

I live near it and I wouldn't touch it with your 10 foot pole! The guy is telling you it needs COMPLETE resto--many hours and bucks. Plus: It does not have pretty lines. Looks clumsy and clunky. Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes right to the bone. Restore an ugly boat---NOT!

MAHAGONY. Nobody cares to restore it. We want the (say it with me) MA-HOG-ON-Y.

That boat would need to sit in water for quite some timeto make the wood swell up enough to seal all the leaks. Wood boats don't do well after sitting out of water for extended periods of time...the wood drys out and shrinks , causing massive leaking thru the hull.....
