Need a wiring diagram for a 1956 Johnson RD-18...HELP!!

Hello to my fellow vintage Johnson owners,
I am completing the restoration of a 1956 Johnson RD-18 and will need to build up a wiring harness. Does anyone have a diagram which list proper wire gauges/colors? I have a 1955 Johnson RD-17 with a complete harness to use as an example, but wanted to be sure of the proper wiring gauge/colors.

The link below is for later models. Maybe you can compare that with your 1955 model and decide what is the same and what is different, if any. I have a non-factory service manual that covers all 30-40HP outboard motors built by OMC from 1956-1964 and it contains one generic wiring diagram.

If you are keeping it completely original then that diagram won't work. The 1956 is 6V whereas the 1957 and later are 12V. The 1956 wiring diagram and solenoid are different than the one provided.

Thanks so much for the help. I have the original harness to check wire gauges, but the color coding is very helpful.
