I thought I'd start a new thread of boating related one-liners. See what we can come up with. I'll start.

If you can't pronounce "bowline" properly, much less tie one, you may need a Boater's Ed. course.

If you think "Gunwale" is pronounced like it's spelled, you may need a Boater's Ed. course.

If you wrap line around a cleat until you can't see the cleat anymore, You may need a Boater's Ed course.

If you don't know what "Chapman's" is, you may need a Boater's Ed course.

If you think that you must have your "headlights" on while boating at night . . . you might need a boating safety class.

If you drop your anchor straight down and tie it off, then can't figure out why your boat continues to drift,... You may need a boater's safety course.

If you don't get your boat wheels wet when launching, you may need a boaters course

Re: ....You May Need A Boater's Safety Class

If you spend more time launching and retrieving, than actually enjoying your boat....

If you remove your boat cover, unload 4 days of gear out of your truck and load it into your boat, remove transom straps and transom saver, pour a cup of coffee, shoot the *hit with everyone walking by to get fishing tips,,, while ready to back into the water and launch...

If you load up 4 days of gear from your boat to your truck, towel down the boat, connect transom straps and transom saver, secure boat cover, pour a cup of coffee, shoot the *hit with everyone walking by to tell them how good the fishing was,,, in the middle of the launch ramp while lines of people are waiting to launch....

(You probably can't guess what my pet peeve is :D)

Wait a minute, I don't think they cover that stuff in the boaters ed course...

If you call 'em 'ropes' you may need a boaters course.

If you think 'trim' refers to the ladies, you may need a boaters course.

If you think 'gunnel' has something to do with firearms, you DEFINITELY need a boaters course.

If you think a 'shaft log' is.....oh, never mind. :D

DOH, right you are, but isn't wheel slang for a propeller? (Seriously, I thought wheel was a loose term for a prop on a BIG boat / ship?) Guess you would need to get those wet while launching :D I thought TW was referring the the trailer wheels and yanking his chain, what comes around goes around, eh?

How about the "wheel house" I'd hate to get the wheel in there wet while launching...
