The pipe just above the water pump and below the t-stat is going to the water heater.

There is another pipe from heater to the port riser.

There are to more plugged ports on the manifold - one one on each side of t-stat. The t-stat also has a plugged port on the starboard side.

Should I move the switch to one of those ports on the manifold or to the t-stat?

Ayuh,... It's hard to believe the water heater works at All, 'cause it's plumbed All wrong...
The port in the water pump is on the low-pressure side,+ is the coldest water in the motor...
It Should be plumbed from the intake manifold, to either of the ports On the circultaing pump...
Should I move the switch to one of those ports on the manifold or to the t-stat?
Yes, along with the water heater line too...

That must be why the water heater only works with shore power. Nice side fix while figuring out this dam buzzer.

Well, removed the electrical tape from the engine plug side and low and behold, there is an adapter. The brown/blue wire (or tan/blue) disappeard at the engine side plug. There is a new wire though, Green could this be it? it sits in as Pin # 10, can someone verify this for me. Should pin 10 be tan/blue?

This same green wire goes directly to the temp switch, ( continuity ).

thanks for everyones help here.

Anyone know what size and where I can find a plug for the top of water pump where the pipe to heater was?

UPDATE: Traced tan blue from helm to engine plug junction. Then there is a 10in engine adapter (aftermarket for when PO rebuilt?) The adapter fails to continue the Tan/blue wire.

There is a light green wire that goes to oil sender and continues to water temp switch. This green wire has 10-12volts.
Don't know the 12 volts so after rerouting the heater (new thread), I'll try to run it with out the green wire plugged in. I'll keep you posted. If it runs then I'll splice into the boat side wiring harness tan blue side to the green on engine side. ....more to come..

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm confused. What is your problem, other than the alarm doesn't work? Replumbing the heater has nothing to do with wiring the alarms.

Ayuh,... Should be the same size as the 1s you're taking out to reroute it...

Hence this comment above.

Bond-o noticed my heater wasn't hooked up right and... One thing lead to another. Thanks Bond-o.

I'll finish up tomorrow hopefully.

Re: Help Test OIL/Water Gauges, overheat alarm.

Trying to finish things up here. The Radio Shack buzzer is wired in.

With the rebuild, the brown/blue wire was not carried over to the engine side of the plug. So I placed a jumper to from pre boat connector side to post engine connector side.

So now... when the water switch is grounded, the buzzer goes off. GREAT!

NOW, oil switch is where I need some guidance. Remember, there is a fuel pump on the lower starboard side of the engine that runs off my oil pressure switch. Do I wire in the buzzer to this SAME oil switch?

Ok, there are 2 prongs on the switch. I put the alarm wire on it and the alarm turned on with engine off switch in the on position. I started engine and the alarm was still on but just not as loud.

Suggestions?

thanks!

Ayuh,... Sounds like you've got another fuel pump Switch, not an oil pressure senser/ switch...
The alarm switch should be a single post that goes to ground, activating the alarm...

So where can I install one? Or where are they usually installed?

Ayuh,... It's Not the Where,... It's the How....

Put a jumper wire on that second terminal on it,+ Ground it....
That Should make it work properly...

Will that affect the fuel pump operation?

Ooops,... I just reread post # 34...

You need to put a "T" fitting where the fuelpump Switch is, then put the alarm switch in the "T" fitting...

Sorry....
