The boat dry is 2900 lbs.
Add gear, gas and the trailer and id say your close if not over.

I'd guess you're over. Your trailer easily weighs 5-600 lbs. That's not to mention gear or people riding in the vehicle with you. You'll need to pay attention to GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating).

On the upside I don't think you're over so much as to be undoable.

It must be a small SUV.

I personally think you are asking for trouble.

Time to take the wife shopping:p. Get one that matches the boat while your at it.:D

Yep, you are over. You need something with at least a 5,000 tow rating, if not 7,000 lbs. Not that the rig weights close to 7,000, but if you gat a vehicle with a higher tow rating, the the towing will be less wear on the vehicle...

2900hull
600trailer
400engine
300fuel(min)
300gear

you are around 4500 by my guess, and that is not knowing if you are an I/O or an outboard or what you fuel capacity is. All of these things are factors...
