Hi everyone, Need your help. I bought a 1979 sea ray that come with a ford 302 190hp engine. The previous owner didn't winterise the boat properly so the engine block is crack. I was told that 351 can replace my 302 and i was also told that they can put 351 head on 302 engine plus a few more modification can give me 230hp. I don't know much about engine modification so i'm hoping that you guys can help me out what the best way to get my boat running. Also the water pump was stolen off the engine, what pump should i get for it?

Well, in regards to the water pump, use a marine pump, or it wont last a long time.
Same goes for the block, Marine blocks use brass core plugs so they don't rust out.

You probably already have the 351 cam in your 302. You can tell by the firing order. 351 and 302 are different. You could very well have 351 heads as well.

The 351W is just about identical to and interchangable with the 302.

So which engine do you think i should go with 302 or 351w?

Ayuh,... That's Your call,...
Another 302 will be a Plug & Play.... A 351 Won't be... as they're Close, but not Exactly the same....
