Is there any way I can convert my 1960 40hp Evinrude to a single lever control? It would make things so much easier.

Thanks

If your existing two lever control isn't broken, I wouldn't bother. If you go ahead, you'll have to reuse your existing cable ends.

Knob is busted off the gear selector, but other than that it works ok. I'd like to convert if possible. The cable ends are all still good on it. Is there a generic one available that will work with just switching to my ends?

Re: Single lever control conversion?

I found a single lever control that will work! It's off a Johnson, but the cable ends are the same, and it even has the warm up lever which is nice, because mine doenst like low RPM to much unless its got some heat in it :D I'll post some pics once I get it and get it on.
