Anyone with a Chaparral 2000SL or similar

Hi, My 1990 2000SL Chap. has no hinge or latching mechanism for the motor cover, it is held in place stricty by it's own weight, I see no signs of any missing hardware, just wondering if anyone else has a similar Chap. It would be kinda nice to fab a swing away motor cover.

Did you just get the boat? There is nothing to hold it closed but gravity. There is a rod that should be at the top of the divider on the starboard side of the engine. There is a corresponding sort of saddle for that rod to nest in with a pin to hold it open when needed. Simple but it works.
