I have a 2000 90 horse mercury on a 21 foot pontoon and i do alot of trolling. My question is after trolling for a while the plugs load up and foul and i was wondering if i could be injecting to much oil. I have been told i could take the oil injection out of the equation and just start mixing my oil again. Is this feasible or can i adjust the oil injection system for this altitude 7200 ft. The boat is originally from Arizona. I'm in New Mexico.

Re: Spark plug fouling

There is a linkage adjustment on the VRO system. It should be set right on the mark, and if it's obviosly getting too much oil at idle, you can go a bit leaner at idle.

Get a maintainance manual for the engine. The oil system and it's adjustment is well documented.

hope it helps
