I would go if we were around but we are going to be out at Raystown Lake checking it out for the first time. Staying the whole weekend until late on Sunday so we won't be back in time.
I talked to the people organizing this and they said everything is a go for Saturday- the band and the houseboat are ready.
All we need is nice weather!
Last year it got dark to the south for awhile and we had some rain showers, but it wasn't enough to end the party. We later heard that a small tornado touched down in Belair, which is only about 10 miles from Sand island!
I've lost faith in the weather forecast lately, trying to be safe we stayed off the water yesterday, big mistake! We did get caught in a HELLACIOUS microburst or something on rt 155 past Lapidum rd and I95. 0 visibility a couple of times for short periods.
All the storms were late though, we'd have been off the water by then anyway.
We did LOOK at the water from land, anyone know where this is?
Yeah, biggest crowd yet. I'm guessing 200+ boats and maybe 500 people.
The band played from the beach this year. I liked it better.
I heard there was an "argument" between some participants around 7PM. DNR police were called. I'm glad I was gone by then.
Also, evening storms skirted the area; not sure if Sand Island was affected but they were awfully close!
wish i could have made it. We ended up going crabbing on the wye instead. Only caought 16 crabs! We got out late, but still should have hadmore. Sounds like the wye is cooling down.
