My Johnson 1985 120 h.p. alarm has sounded intermittently a few times so far this summer. It's pumping plenty of water and it doesn't seem to matter if it's idling or at higher rpms.Although it seems to happen more frequently at idle or low idle speeds. It may happen once during the day and the rest of the day it's fine.Does this alarm work for the VRO system too ? There's plenty of oil though.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,jmp1016

Where do I check for an oil problem ?

is the oil bulb always firm or you have to press it from time to time? is thats thje case you have a air leak in your oil system....

your VRO might be going bad.... check see if the low level alarm in the tank works.....

and last the alarm? how many beeps? wahts going on there???
