Only a real man can get coupons for JoAnn's, shop at JoAnn's, like it, and freely admit it to other men. Well done Bob!:D

That is a great price on marine vinyl!

Is it for the deck or for seating, cushions etc?

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Okay more progress (dam I like nice weather!!) It seems as if I am all over doing side projects!

Engine cover needed to be sanded and painted.... got new decals from ebay and I am having a stripe made locally.....

I "obtained" a 4 x 4 aluminum sign and had it sheared into a 2X4 and 2 2x2 pieces. The larger 2 X 4 piece was attached to my deck for the pedestal support and carpeted over. The aluminum is 1/8" thick.

Okay this is strange.... look at the bubbles in the epoxy on a piece of oak. It is two piecs laminated together and one piece wants to bubble up.

I used it to cover the side panels and I am also going to cover the front of the console panels with it.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Are you doing the epoxy outside in the sun? Looks like internal air is expanding. But why it would not do that on the other piece of oak is mysterious.

I have heard of out-gassing when epoxy is applied when temps are rising, but never guessed it would look like that. Any chance the one piece was coated with something? Maybe send one of the pics to the epoxy manufacturer and see what they say?

Grrrrr I hate waiting for parts.....

Well I re-epoxied the wood and it came out fine. Applied two coats of varnish and intend on one more after I lightly sand again.

Yesterday since I am in the "waiting" mode I worked a bit more on my Hosclaw Trailer. My intention further down the road is to have side bunks but the Hosclaw did not have side beams. I had already built a large bracket on the rear and this new one is in-front of the wheels.

I added more steel to the rear bracket ....... both brackets are strong enough to stand on.

A place to mount my side lights and in the future to mount my side bunk to.

I'm with ya there Bob.

I had Roslynn help with some of the rail bolts since her hands are smaller and easier to fit under those gunwales.

I still have grooves in my arms from yesterday installing bumper hooks. Did not get stung but found those persistent wasp nests. Not yet sure if I'm going to install the bow brackets.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

HATCHES!!! I broke down and purchased 2 hatches and they work great!

Everyday I get a little bit more done ...... mt "to do" list is getting shorter ...... my wallet is getting thinner :(

Ordered some cheap seats so the ones you see will actually be used as the fishing seats. I intend on mounting a pedestal up front and one in the stern.

I have to finish my rod locker storage under my front casting deck...... the front deck has an aluminum plate under the plywood........ to support the pedestal.

Don't be fooled by the steering wheel.....no cable installed yet and the opening is for my tach ;)

Hey.... your mishap inspired me today...... I installed new proof coil safety chains for the trailer and a new safety chain for the bow eye.

Looking good Bob. Hard to believe at this point that your boat was missing everything when you got it.
