I have a 14' fiberglass runabout and was wondering if the 40lb Transom mount MinnKota Endura would be enough power for it. I plan on using it for position holding and some trolling. Could it also get me back to the dock on smaller lakes that are a mile or less across? According to Glastron, my boat weighs 405lbs empty. Add the motor > 170lbs and gear/equipment/battery/gas and one adult I should be 900lbs or less most of the time.

Thanks

I use a Minn Kota RT40 to push about the same amount of weight on a 14ft aluminum in the ocean, by no means is it a speed demon but it gets us around and would push us back to the harbor if the 9.5 gave up.

Thanks, it sounds like it should suit my needs.
