Hey sprintst,
I really like the looks of the fire pit in the middle of the snow.
The boat part's look good too, but you can keep all that white stuff. :D:D

Seat bases are done and epoxied and brad nailed together.

I'll post some pics when my hinges are and and they are all assembled.

Also thinking of getting the insurance to pay for the recovering since the dog ate them.

Do you have any idea where I could buy hinges like those found in your seats? The ones I used on my hatches weren't really quite what I needed. I made them work but what you have are perfect.

www.veada.com has the seat hardware in thick alum but I was looking to overdue as usual and am looking for stainless steel.

The flat heavy guage stainless steel piano hine is available at Greatlakeskipper and I will post the link to it later. I also found the wrap around piano hinge that is brass plated at a different site.

I will probably go with the stainless in the seat bases as they will pool water more from wet a**es and the alum from veada for the seat backs.

I'll post the links later tonight.

Got a bit more done today. The seat frames are finally all together. These are of the seat backs with the sides epoxied and brad nailed together.

I rounded the corners on the side pieces with a jigsaw but the belt sander is the cats a** when it comes to this stuff.

These are the pieces under the seats that are trimmed to fit the contours of the seats.

I could have written a cheesy hit song titled "there's sawdust in my beer"

Final assembly of the seat bottoms. The final step is the epoxying of the tops but will leave portions of the underside un-epoxied as the wood will be impossible to staple the vinyl on.

I ordered the flat and offset seat hinges for the bases from Veada as they were the same as my originals and as thick a gauge as well.

Anything uneven from the jigsawing will get a shot of beltsanding tomorrow. I also ordered my carb so I'm officially broke for another two weeks.

I'm pulling the boat over to the driveway to get started pn the disassembly of the butt end of the boat to pull the transom and get crackalacking.

Got a bit more done today as well.

That thickened epoxy with cabosil is amazing. The seat sides are on there for good as it is all set up and is as hard as a rock.

I took the belt sander to some of the sides and contours and hit everything with a coat of epoxy. Much better than the orginal factory wood so I should be good for another half century.

I'll take the boat down and work on it in my driveway to mark and cut the holes for the front and rear speakers in the next day or so.

Very nice work! I wish I had the patience you did in taking the paint all the way down, I just feathered the chips primed the bare metal and sprayed two coats of m22 ben moore. I just got the floor screwed and riveted today, the floor really feels solid now. We are shooting for some sea trials with in the month.

Hey sprintst,
Nice work man.
Just a curious question, did you leave your belt sander upside down on the table and shape your wood.
Looking good.

Yup. I was drinking so that was the only way the belt sander would stay in one place :) I just used it as a table to shape the pieces so I could eyeball down to the markings I made.

I liked the way it turned out. I was trying to jigsaw the shape like a sucker until I caught onto the belt sander idea.

I went a little nuts as I was gung ho to start. Money is light now so that would have been the way to go.

Your going to pass me soon enough.

Hey sprintst,
I thought thats what you did?
Hey, we do what we have to. Just be careful, hate to see anyone get hurt. They actually make a tool like that. :D
Your work is still first rate.
Great job.

See that could go top 10... We just need some dirty ones dancing in the foreground in the video.

Mass market appeal. If Billy Ray can do it then anyone can :)

The new carb is in...yay. There was also massive UPS brokerage fees...booo. It got here really fast though...yay. I'm broke now...boo.

Anyways I'll post some pics of the new carb 18-7608-1 that was the Sierra replacement with lifetime warranty...who's lifetime I have no idea. I also post pics of my completed epoxied frames and side panels after I cutout my speaker holes.

This weekend I start on the transom work. I'll get it ready to pull this weekend with any luck.

I need to get the pics updated. I cleaned my old canvas boat cover and sprayed it with Thompsons Water Seal to use temporarily until the boat is finished. Don't want to get the new cover dirty.

I also picked up a 5.00 kit to replace some of the bad eyelets. Drill a hole and put the 2 part eyelet in the hole and use the tool to hammer the eyelet together.

Tomorrow is epoxying of the seat boxes, etc.
