can anyone tell me how to adjust timing on my my 1990 60hp johnson. I have read the one that tash sends to everyone, but I don't understand how to make my timing actually change. I have found that it is way off, but don't know how to make it fire where it needs to be? Any help would be great!

Re: johnson timing adjustment

adjustment is the adjustable link white arrow, pop the ball joint on the end,CAREFULLY, and adjust. Pink arrow. this is not a 60 hp, but same principle.

Re: johnson timing adjustment

How to a verify if I have the correct timing base on my motor? its part number is 582724. I ask this because a mechanic one time put the wrong stator on the motor. I don't know if this got replaced or not.. thanks for the help.
