Re: Can I tow with a 2xd truck 07silvardo1500
I own 4x4 F150 and rarely use the 4x4 option for pulling the boat. However once or twice a year I have had situations where the 4x4 option became a godsend.
In particular the 4th of July, 2008 at a very busy public boat launch in Sandusky, OH. That day we have returned back around 3 PM and the boat launch parking lot was busy and frantic, filled with normal drama of your average public launch. The concrete was soaked from all the boat trailers and as result the 2x4 trucks and other vehicles had problems pulling out. Thankfully, there was one guy with 4x4 GMC helping stuck vehicles to make it up ramp. Otherwise, we would have been bobbing there for hours waiting for our turn. That whole launch was filled with scenes like this

Also if you live in cold climate or travel in rural areas and farms, the 4x4 will always help. You are likely use that truck more for your daily commute or errants than towing a boat, thus is is important to consider all options besides just towing.
