Merc Harnees

I have an Merc wiring harness (Ignition, Tacho choke etc ) and the starter cables which I need to replace. Is the connector into the outboard a factory sealed unit as it looks, or can you open it, and how?.

Part number on connector is Mercury 45876, looks like a snakes head, its got two battery points, four points in a diamond shape above them and one below.

It's not repairable with out hard wiring to the engine check ebay or heres a link for new. http://www.iboats.com/CDI_474_9550_...1250002--**********.478262545--view_id.336030

Need to replace the whole connector system unless you can get clean wire close in to the plug then splicing new cables by soldering and shrink sleaving may be ok. Otherwise you could try Sea-way.com. They are good for older motor parts.
