Whats my max hp?

i have a 15 ft duracraft, 60 inches wide. what do you think is the max horsepower? i dont have the plate on there that shows what it is. also if you put a jack plate on a boat can you put a biger hp motor?

There is a formula to find that out. Hopefully someone will pitch it with. I dont seem to find it right away. As far as overpowering, you probably dont want to do that. Your transom was probably designed to hold the weight and force for a motor matching the vaule of the above mention formula. You can create serious problems. Good luck.

Dank, Conventional boats of that size usually have a max HP rating of 40-50HP. The Bass-Boat style will usually have a much stronger hull and greater beam and have a higher HP rating.

My 14' Lund with side console only has a max of 35hp and I don't think I would want anything bigger on it.

Well, there you have it Dank, 60 hp with remote steering, 35 hp tiller.

I can't believe my hydroplanes are USCG legal !!!
