Re: Why I post in fuel savings and torque threads . . .

Yes, oil changes can be stretched. I usually don't crank those savings into the economics as I like to be a little conservative. If there is a bonus then the customer is even happier with us . . . One problem we have is that it is so easy to run 100% diesel that I cannot guarantee that they will use any gas. The driver simply has to shut the supply off and it is a diesel truck, or he can just not fill it. Very complicated issue for us as we want this feature for the fleet, and there is a safety aspect in that we must allow the driver to be able to shut the gas off. So we are kind of at his mercy. Anyone with a truck background knows that being at a driver's mercy is a bad place to be . . .

Thanks QC for the blatant commercialism and fine example of dual standards employed here at thingy boats. Why don't you return your email or give me a call sometime.

This is a very interesting thread QC. Enjoying it.
Met up with Anitas niece, and her partner is a Cat heavy diesel mech in Melbourne. I'll pass the thread on as he is a progressive thinking bloke and know he will have an interest in what is going on.
Thanks
Cheers

I don't see too many boats being pulled by 18 axle road trains!!! And so I doubt that the iBoats forum users are 'target audience'....

Get off your high horse!!!
