1989 evinrude 200 hp

New powerpack,new voltage regulator,new magnets. Motor still does not fire. Any suggestions on what else could be wrong?

First make sure the emergency kill switch isn't on. If it is ok, disconnect the black/yellow wires going the the switch boxes and recheck. If you now have spark there is a problem with the emergency kill switch or ignition switch.

Go to the Engine FAQs forum and do "Outboard won't start".

Tell us what you find out.

pull red plug jump it at selinod if it doesnt fire dva stator and go from there if shows voltage at stator then check for grounded wire in powerhead wireing
and test rest of elec with dva

Weird thing happened to me.New powerpack,new voltage regulator, new magnets.Engine still does not fire.Raised motor with tilt and it would fire and lowered motor and it would fire the next day.I am scratching my hair out right now.Messed up wiring somewhere I guess?

There is a mercury switch bolted to the motor that prevents you from starting it when raised. It may have been stuck and raising the motor freed it.
You might want to check it as the motor shouldn't fire when raised.
