on the muffs

this may sound stupid but i am new to boating, i have a 70 hp chrysler o/b when i have the hose on it , seems like no water goes in the engine does it need to warm up first or should there be flow right away? I have a manual orderd but i'm impatient thanks.

Hello cjduns and welcome to iboats. Chrysler lower unit design usually does not work well with most water muffs. It is best to build a water test tank using a garbage can or something similar.

once engine starts you should see water coming out right away, if not check impeller in lower unit, otherwise you will burn out your head unit.
