I have been curious about anodes lately - making sure I have the right ones installed properly and maintained.

Well, someone took the one off of my lower unit. and I am not happy about it. seems so stupid though - those are kind of cheap. They took the one that looks like a fin.

just needed to vent.

Put a little Permatex on the screw next time. Like ooops said, it fell off. Now if your lower unit is missing....

I generally steal them to hang off my platinum chain...

Clocks are getting too expensive, what with the weakening dollar. :D

FELL OFF !@#$% Never thought it could fall off... wow, I feel a little silly.

Thankfully, the lower unit is still there... had to double check.

makes sense though. When I switch out props, I'll install a new one and use the permatex. Thanks for the tip!

Nope,sorry..i took it, am fabricating a new type of boat made entirely from zinc, never rot...no paint issues...no need for fenders....self sacrificing.....zero maintenance....

Cheap?
Heck the local supply house wanted $18 and $25 for the two non-adjustable anodes on my 1999 90hp Johnson.
I can see some knucklehead wanting to swipe them especially if shiny brand new with only one bolt in them.

For what they are made of, how they are made, etc. the prices are outragous.

Thanks to enviromental regulations.

Thieves be damned! don't even think about taking the pear shaped one I have left Uraijit and marine4003...

Well, jeeperman, unfortunately everything we have had to do on our boat so far has cost more then 25 bucks... toys included. So this is a LITTLE expense for us. Although it would take us out far to the fish and back in gas! UGGH.

I know... bout another thousand.... repeat...
