Prop go into gear does not move?

I have a 5.8 corba I had it on the lake and half way across it stop working. when I got home check to see if I could put in to gear all gear work motor revs what could be the promble? Could it be my shifting cable if so tell me how to check it. Thanks If it is the coupler how do I check for it? If you need more info what do you need. Thanks again

Really need a tad bit more info. If the motor works and you have no power to the prop might just check your coupler. My $.02
