i picked up a boat with this motor on it. When i got it, the top cover was just laying on it, not latched on or anything, so i am not sure if there is anything missing. i just picked it up today, so havnt had time to really look at it.

i know it might be hard from the pics, but heck, its worth a shot. i plan on getting a manual for it also. im pretty darn handy with a wrench so i plan on doing everything myself.

Maybe you should post everything you know about the motor: How long it has been sitting? Do you know what does work on it? Starter work? Plugs correct size and gap? Any cracks in fuel lines? Etc.

I would get as much fogging oil into it as I could, cylinders, crankcase and let it set for a few days before trying to turn it over by hand at first to start things slowly so you don't get any "start-up" scratches in anything. While the oil is soaking in, teardown and clean the carbs they are most likely hard varnished. Take your time and be patient. Also, read this: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=158086
