I just wanted to say that I finished reading your article and found myself really engaged in it. Now I can put a face with the Hideout... I'll have to drive the few miles on of these days.. I am sure you have returned the favor that was given to you with the fly rod....

A very nice article indeed.Nothing is half as satisfying as a well written article that describes a labor of love. Makes me want to get a Montauk.
Rumor has it that the whaler has been sold.Is there any truth to this?

Actually, rolmops, that Whaler has been sold and so has her successor. I am currently boatless.

Really nice piece JB.

Takes me back to days gone, but not forgotten.

Don't worry about being boatless. A old Schwinn, a cane pole, and a can of worms can sometimes be more fun than the biggest, newest of hightech offshore rigs.

Cheers from a Texan with a old Schwinn (really) & cane pole in Germany. :D
