looking for a 1977 140 Johnson thermostat kit everybodys kits are from 1978-1985...i have been told on here before the only difference is the main bearing size...but i just want to make sure before i order thanks Jason

the correct water pump kits for the 1977 140hp are BRP 388644 and/or 395073.

There are other differences besides the main bearing, but the thermostats kits are not among them. The Sierra Kit has everything you need #18-3673.
