Fuel system question......

Would something like a clogged filter or bad pump etc...cause an outboard engine that has been running fine, all of a sudden to just run but run poorly (no spitting or sputtering) just complete lack of rpm's?

It could be a lot of things. Fuel or ignition related. It is usually best to do some basic troubleshooting to narrow down what is wrong. Troubleshooting is usually faster and less frustrating than replacing/repairing parts based upon guesses from how the motor is running. Just my experience...

There are various troubleshooting tests you can do to narrow things down. The FAQs and other threads on the forum already have lots of guidance on this.
