Skeetr,

On your lower leg assembly there will be two screw heads. One will be labeled oil fill and the other oil drain. First, open both plugs and drain all oil from the leg into a suitable container. Then after draining is complete replace the drain plug and add Hypoid gear oil to the fill plug hole until it runs out of the hole. Quickly replace the fill screw. Presto you have completed a gear case oil change.

Remember to check the used oil for any metal shavings or water which could indicate problems in your lower end.

The gearcase fill hole is below the engine at the top of the gearcase near the forward end. It has a knob that can usually be turned by hand. The case needs 84.6 ounces of Ultra-HPF gear oil. The drain is a slotted screw under the boat at the water intake grill. The oil is supposed to be changed every 100 hours of operation.
