Setting:
Naval Air Museum Pensacola NAS

Players:
1. Docent
2. Tourist (caucasion male...early 30's)

While viewing the P-40 Warhawk (think Burma and Flying Tigers and a big toothy grin) I overheard this conversation betwix a tourist and a docent...

Tourist: Did you fly one of these?

Docent: No, I graduated from High School in 1958

Tourist: Were you in World War 2?

I don't get it....;)

I used to work in the sport fishing industry and I've had lots of interesting questions asked of me.

I worked at a fly in resort that is a floating ship moored in a remote location on coastal British Columbia and I can't count the number of times I was asked what elevation we were at. One of my favorites was a gentleman new to salmon fishing asked me "What happens if I'm playing a really big salmon and the line breaks?"

FYI: The NEA doesn't train teachers. Colleges train teachers.
After a field trip to the Lonestar flight museum in Galveston, Texas, some kids can tell you what a Merlin Rolls Royce engine is, what airplanes it went in, and how many cylinders it had. Some don't learn anything. It's all about what the kids want to learn. It's not always because the teachers aren't making the effort.
