Has anyone found a cure for the Ethanol problem? I do not live in the South so I cannot run motor during winter. There is no place to buy plain gas unless you want to buy racingfuel (200 octane)

Re: Fuel Problem

You don't want to use 200 octane, that would be worse than the ethanol.
There isn't a cure needed, it works in outboards. What is your problem and what year, HP, and SN is your motor?

I have a 302 Ford, ciria 1972, 40 gallon aluminum tank, have tried to clean out the tank, but was told that this would only last for a short time since the tank is open to the air the ethanol would draw in water vapor that would condense in the tank

Re: Fuel Problem

You need to drain the water out of the tank. If a tank gets too much water in it, changing a filter won't help. and there are a lot of reasons to get that much water in a tank besides the fuel being ethanol.
Have a look at this link for how to get the water out.

What about running 100LL (AV gas) - no road taxes, it's actually less expensive than premium in my area?
