johonson 1958 50 hp compression range

hi, mi name is miguel, i have a 1958 v50 from johonson and i woul like to know the pistons compresion range, the motor is working and 99.99% original and just want to know in which conditions is now working.

I would appreciate any information about the compresion range, tanks alot

Normally the compression would be 100+ psi and even on all cylinders.

What readings are you getting?

Joe, Are you sure the compression was that much. I always assumed that the Fat-Fifty was low compression (75PSI or so).

Miguel, The motor should have nearly the same compression on all cylinders. The amount of compression is not as important.

tanks indeed, i read 80 psi in 3 pistons and 75 in one piston, so i belive that the motor still having a good compresion,

Migiba..... The 100+ psi reading I mentioned previously, I was thinking of the old 75hp models of the 1960 era, sorry. The readings you've obtained are fine for that year V4 50hp.
