Heat exchanger ?

Could i use a 1980 mercruiser 3.7L heat exchanger on my 1968 165hp 250cid L6 ? there's no expansion tank with it but i could get one. And were there two heat exchangers on the 1980 3.7L mercruiser ? The seller said it;s the 3" smaller of the "two" ? Thanks

The 3" was too small for the 4 cylinder, that is why Merc went to the 4" on the 3.7's. It won't cool your 6 either.
