Exhaust Manifold Replacement

I have a 1996 Tiara with twin 454 Crusaders with closed circuit cooling both of which run great with no problems...The engines are original with about 1100 hours. Most of that time was in Fresh water...The boat was relocated to the Salt Water environment last year and while the former owner replaced the risers two years ago, I'm wondering if I should replace the exhaust manifolds as well as a preventive measure...??

Is this a waste of money or a good idea???

Thanks in advance...

Re: Exhaust Manifold Replacement

That depends on the material they are made from & if are they part of the closed side or raw water side.......
I'm sure there are some Crusader owners who can shed some more light....:)

Those manifolds should be freshwater cooled unless someone changed the cooling system for some reason. You should be ok
