Fishfinder installation question

Hi folks,
I'm just about to install my fishfinder and I'm having hard time
to decide on what side to install the transom transducer
starboard or port side. While doing search on this subject
I found them installed on both sides. My outboard is 2007 F60 EFI
( I presume the propeller spins clock wise ?)

Problem number two
While reading the installation manual they recommend to run the transducer wiring away from all other wires. It will be major pain to do that, is this really so crucial ?

Last thing
Transducer placement should be minimum 12" from the propeller
This means measuring from the propeller it self or centerline of the transom ?

Thanks !

Re: Fishfinder installation question

1: whichever side more convienience
2: no, you'll be ok unless you got a whole lotta wires with lotsa power runin' thru
3: from the prop itself.
Good lucks!

Thanks for the fast reply !
I read somewhere that the speedo cable can disrupt the signal
The only wires there is what was rigged with the boat ( gauges and outboard control). They also recommend not to wire the fishfinder to the main battery.

?
Most speedos are just a plastic tube carrying water pressure from a pitot to the gauge. There's NO way it can interfere with a transducer.

Another ?
The battery is the cleanest dc power source on the boat. But connecting to the + supply (or Ign) to the key will work fine too.
