Just wanted to touch base with you all, I have a 1983 Force outboard thats 85 hp. I cant get it to start, so after i determined that its not flooded, i checked the spark on each the coils. Coils 1 and 3 are fine but i get nothing on 2, is it safe to assume that i need to replace the coil or is there something more serious going on. And how hard are the coils to replace, the replacement coils that i found do not look like the ones that were on the motor. Thanks for any advice given.

swap the coils with a coil from #1 or #3 and see it fixs the #2...if so..then you get another coil for #2

Ok so it seems that i have some other issue going on than. Hmmmm, could i have flooded it to keep it from starting or is something else potentially wrong.

Re: No spark on #2

worry about your spark first bro... compression+spark+fuel=running motor
