1966 100HP powerhead swap

Hi. I have a 1966 Meteor with a bad piston and cylinder. Does anyone know if a 1967 powerhead will work on that engine without any modifications? The 1967 unit is bare so I would have to bolt all the stuff from the 1966 unit on it. The rest of the 1966 model is in good shape, and I just put new seals and a bearing in the gearhead cover, so I hate to junk the motor.

i strongly beleve it will work, there was a change in 68, from electric shift to hydroelectric. if i'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know when OMC went to electronic ignition? My '66 has an old distributor and points type system.
