Hoo, boy. That one is going to be a challenge. I've drilled out many thousands of bolts, but that one scares even me. Good luck.

I think you pretty much have to drill it out, but yeah that's gonna be a challenge. Might want to set a roll-pin or plastic bushing snug in the hole for a guide and start with a small pilot drill. Then, go to a larger left-handed drill and hope to spin it out.

I do have a seized 1960 3hp with a two blade prop would this fit it and is it a different pitch?

Also I need to get a impellor and lu seal kit. I would like to get these online if somebody could post a link to the parts I need that would be great.

Even if you have to, you can drill it out, then heli-coil it all. The key to any of it is going to be getting a good center pilot hole going.

If it's too daunting you can always have a machine shop do it.

I think my local shop would probably charge me $40 or so. Your mileage may vary.

Might fit, you'll just have to try it and see...should be about the same pitch as a two-blade prop for a 5 hp. If not, don't worry...they come up all the time for not much scratch on Schmebay.

3hp prop would be different. I don't have the proper parts book for your 5, but the 1968 model is on line at "http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=E Copy and paste the address without the " because we are not allowed to post links.

I would say that your motor and the '68 are about the same.

The Iboats store will have some parts for it. For what they don't have, try any of the outfits listed on the links page at www.aomci.org . I like Engine, Blade & Prop in Milwaukee a whole lot, good folks/good prices.
