I have an 83 Jonson 115 V4 that has a ding in the lower stb piston. However, the cylinder does not appear to be damaged. I am planning on over hauling the power head myself, but I need a machine shop in there area to inspect and bore/hone the block if necessary.

Also is it necessary or recommended to replace the other pistons. Compression on the good cylinders was 105-110psi. I was planning on just replacing the rings on the good pistons and replacing the damage piston.

I'd suggest sending the block to Mar-Fab in Sparta Tenn. Let them make boring recommendations on measurements rather than looks. Since it probably broke a ring it's most likely from coking which is caused by lugging. At any rate the cylinders have probably seen excess combustion temps.

Their number is 800-476-1554. Talk to Kurt. Great folks who do outstanding work. Anything that you need for the project that might not be available here at iboats, they'll have in stock.
