1985 johnson v4 140hp oil running down the motor tword the lower unit. It also smokes when i first start it. The gas filter has signs of oil bleeding back in to it. I checked the cap on the oil thank and the cap is venting. I thought it was the VRO pump so i replaced it with a brand new 4 wire VRO pump. It would be nice to keep the oil injection the pump was $300 bucks.

It could be the clear oil line leading to the vro pump or anywhere between the connector and the clear line. I was having fuel delivery problems and discovered that mine was cracked. It virtually disintegrated when I removed the pump to work on the fuel problem.
