evinrude 9.5 sportwinn

my 9.5 is spitting salt water inside of the motor . its comming out right near the rear screw of the recoil unit. It has rusted up ! any ideas how to fix??? thanx

The rear screw's hole taps into the water jacket. You probably just need to put some goo on the screw. There's also a rubber gasket under the recoil unit that caps off a hole into the water jacket. You could be leaking there too.

As for getting that screw out. Penetrating oil and heat are going to be your best friend.

ive taken off the fly wheel and the armature plate and there is a lot of rust, . How to remove and repair! thanx wombat will take a look at the rear screw!
