That along with Reids approval rating being in the tank at 19%. He is as big a bozo as his predecessor Daschle. For the life of me I can not see how 'critical thinkers' like rolmops can look a prominent leader of the philosphy he chooses and then think there is any validity to that philosphy.

People like Reid, who are in a position to defend that philosphy are.... Well it's really simple. A modern day liberal philosophy can not be defended, that is why all the proponents of it look and sound like complete buffoons.

Hey Stevieray, How about this. We are currently engaged in a conflict that has had and will have profound consequences for all people living on this particular planet at this particular time in our world's history. I hope I'm not alone in the above stated perception of the time we are now living. Mr Reid stated: "this war is lost". Do you think his statement is true? I do not! Some Liberals try to talk illogically about how important Afganistan is and how unimportant Iraq is. By what standard? Mr Reid is the Political leader along with Ms. Pelosi of a very powerfull political party in our Country. Do you think anti-American propaganda hurts us or helps us? Your answer to the last question will guide your perception of Mr. Reid wether or not you, (not you specifically: Stevieray) are Liberal or Cornservative. Respectfully, JR

Stevieray. Most Libs and most Democrats are in favor of rasing taxes at every level. Hope ya know about that characteristic. Most Cornservatives do not. They, (Libs n' Dems n' their buds the MSM) lable Cornservatives 'selfish' n' mean for not supporting their higher tax bigger government adjenda, yet they tend to be very selfish in their own charity works while Cornservatives are just the opposite. Most of us Cornservatives would characterize this corncept as PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, and the Libs philosophy as pro VICTIMHOOD, as victimhood serves their Liberal adjenda quite nicely n' hooks' 'em, (victims) to dependance on the large n' growin' government they, (the Libs n' Dems) clearly want.

Most Libs and most Democrats want more government programs to assist their favorite minorities or social categories. Some call this common value of Libs "worship of nanny government". Cornservatives feel the Libs and Dems are real generious with our tax $ that we are forced to pay, (key word: FORCED). Libs may be soooo selfish that they know they will never help the poor if not forced to by forced taxation.

Most Libs and most Democrats look down at all Religions but save their real distaste for the majority Christians, (as they know they can get away with that type of bigotry as it is well accepted bigotry n' Lib circles). Most Libs and most Democrats n' their pals in the MSM luv ta lable their opposition with an ism; (racism is their favorite). Cornservatives tend to be principaled, (where the ends don't necessarily justify the means), which is a trait of many religious people, so it is not suprizing that many but clearly not all Cornservatives are religious. Religious Democrats would seem ta have an obvious Cornflict that has been overlooked by them in an ends justify means way with ABORTION.

Cornservatives (surprizingly if ya listen to the MSM's characterizations) are actually far more tolerant then Liberals. Hope that helps clear yer thinkin' me man! Respectfully JR

Don't get me wrong - I'm not defending the guy, but I Dogpiled that "war is lost" quote just looking for further insight & this is what came back from the Congressional record site, so you can see it could possibly have been taken out of context:

"As long as we follow the President’s path in Iraq, the war is lost. But there is still a chance to change course and we must change course. No one wants us to succeed in the Middle East more than I do. But there must be a change of course. Our brave men and women overseas have passed every test with flying colors. They have earned our pride and our praise. More important, they deserve a strategy worthy of their sacrifice."

I just want to hear why bashing this guy that, from the data I found relatively quickly on the web, seems to hold a few basic conservative values - especially the religion thing - is supported by conservatives here. That seems of such deep importance in your arguments & I can't fathom why it is not even brought up as an issue when discussing him.

For someone like me who refuses to lock-step with either side, it's very confusing, indeed.
