14ft valco transom replacement

i wanted to remove the wood from my 1969 valco (alumnium) transom--has any one done this, any tips or locals for info about this job?

i've replace a lot of transoms in aluminum boats, but not familar with a Valco. post pictures inside and out, what motor is going on it.

i need to replace the wood and will hang a 'oo evinrude 8hp (83lbs)

Do you know of a good guide or book? I have tried searching on the old format with no luck and would love a good how-to with pics. Who doesn't thought ya know

if i don't know what you have i can't give you the right directions. i don't know what a valco is..or how big it is. you can hang a 8hp on a 20 footer.
