1993 evinrude 9.9 tuneup questions

hello, i have a 1993 9.9 evinrude that runs alright. it starts on the first or second pull everytime but once it starts it is loud and doesnt seem very consistent in idle. i am pretty sure it just needs a tune up or a overall good maintenance check up. i dont want to pay the 90$/hr the mechanics around here charge and i want to understand how to tune the motor up myself. can anyone help me with the step by step tune up instructions for this motor. thank you. any advice is greatly appreciated.

In all seriousness,the best advice i would give u,is to obtain a FACTORY service manual,or at least a manual,..to inform and guide u thru the process.
