I have a 1984 175 Yamaha. I am waiting for the arrival of my tilt/trim motor. To remove my tilt/trim motor, I had to break open my hydraulic lines to free up my motor in order to "hand raise" it up out of the way. Once I install my motor, what do I need to do to add hydraulic fluid. Where do I fill it up at? How do I know when it's full? Does it need to be primed - if so, how? I can post a photo of the tilt/trim unit if necessary. Thanks for any advise.

What ever you do, don't fill it up in the up position.
Make sure it is all the way down.

You might want to ask this question in the Yamaha forum, should bet more exposure to the Yamaha experts there.

You will need to top off the reservoir.
Priming is done by cycling the unit up and down, then recheck the fluid level.
