25 HP Johnson Sea Horse starter

I have a 1981 Johnson Sea Horse. I would like to install an electric starter. I will tiller operate this and hope I can just add a solinoid, battery, switch and starter. The choke and shifting will continue to be manual operated. It does has a geared flywheel. I see starters on E-bay but what do I look for?

If you go to Evinrude .Com and look at parts,specifically OB accessories,1981,electrical,you can look at the complete factory kit.It costs $400.00.

It will show you what you need.The hard part may be the starter mounting bracket which can be bought new for $110.00.Don't overlook the neutral safety switch.I'd hate to see someone crank her over in gear with the throttle up.

there is an add on electric stater kit for your motor. #173964 $399. i can pull start a lotta times for that.
