transducer instalation................

looking for some info on how to install a smaller stem transducer in a holes that is bigger form old one. whats the process and whats the best technique ???? thanks in advance for any info .

Epoxy the Old Hole Closed,+ Install the New, Smaller 1.........

BHM, In a cored hull is is advisible to drill a hole larger than the object to be installed, fill the hole with fiberglass, and then drill the new fiberglass to install the unit. This precludes any water from getting to the core material. In your case, you should be able to fill the hole(Marine Tex or other epoxy putty product), and then redrill for the smaller transducer.

All good advice. Don't be tempted to use Silicone. It won't last.

do you guys recomend 2 or 3 small layers of cloth on bottom side ?


as of now i i filled the hole with west system and 406

ok even beter is cavasill and resin and a drop or 2 of hardner just a drop and u can mix some white pigment for a no show fill and water tight for life
