That's Rust,.........

Do you have a Canister style Fuel Filter mounted Before the Carb,..??..??.....

If Not,...... I'd Add 1......

Then just carry a Spare,+ Change it as often as Necessary, til the Problem Clears Up.........

I have a fuel water seperator before the carb but what ever it is , it gets through the seperator and builds up in the plastic carb filter. (alum tank)

Im thinking it may be galvanic corrosion but i see no signs from the outside of the tank . if i cant clean it out I will have to pull two motors and cut some fiberglass.

I Don't Know what the # would be,......
But maybe you could find a Cannister Fuel Filter that has a Micron Size that's As Small, or Smaller the the screen in the Carb that's Catching this Crap..........

Is the Cannister Filter you have Now catching Any of this Stuff,..??..??......

Can you acess the Fuel Gauge Sending Unit,..??..??.....
If so,.... Pull it Out,+ Have a Look Inside............
