Bayliner is like the "Home Depot" of boats. As for your question of
"what does this mean to the consumer?" It's very simple, they buy materials in bulk quantity. Like Home Depot, they are able to offer quality
(yes, I said quality - not, highest quality) items in larger quantities and
pass the savings to the consumer. The smaller "Mom and Pop" makers are simply unable to compete, pricewise.
US Marine also owns Mercury Marine engines, they don't buy engines from a 3rd party and are again able to
pass the savings on to the consumer. It's common sense that their large profits come from selling in quantity, not by overpricing.

Glastron used to "laugh all the way to the bank" as they were #1 in the '70s, and they're not doing too bad now, this would make a better comparison than the obsolete SeaBreeze you love so much to bring up.
To you, the BayBashing may be fun, but it's been a dead horse ever since Brunswick turned the company around. Why you try it here is beyond me. I've seen some of your posts, I thought you were better educated.
Speaking of common sense, I bought a Bayliner to have fun, not to impress others with a brand. I will spend the thousands saved compared to competitors on more important things. And the boat will have the same reliability / maintenance issues that all the other boats have.
And yes, our family will be running out to Parker, AZ over the Christmas break.
